Fall in Sonoma County has its own rhythm: vineyard rows shifting gold and crimson, cool river mornings, harvest celebrations, cozy tasting rooms, local art, and long drives through redwood shade. At Casa Secoya, you can spend the day exploring wineries, film festivals, farm trails, and coastal towns, then return to a room or cabin made for slowing down. Sonoma County Tourism notes that fall brings harvest season, festivals, hiking, farmers markets, apple picking, and temperate weather for exploring the redwoods, Russian River, and Sonoma Coast.
A Redwoods Retreat For Harvest Season
A Cozy Sonoma County Stay Designed For Slow Mornings & Soft Evenings
Redwoods & Harvests
Wrap yourself in the warm, woodsy calm of Sonoma’s redwoods with a basket designed for quiet mornings, soft evenings, and everything in between. Light an artisanal candle from Duncan’s Mills Candle Co., brew a cup from your curated Bia Café tea sampler, and sweeten it with local honey sourced from nearby farms. Your room includes an electric kettle for easy tea or cider moments whenever the mood strikes.
Each stay also features a rotating title from a local author’s regional‑history series—perfect for fireside reading or learning a little about the stories woven into this place. And if you’re feeling curious, you’ll find a printed map of nearby wineries to guide a self-paced afternoon adventure.
Things To Do In Sonoma This Fall
Explore The Redwoods
Start slow with a morning beneath the trees. Wander nearby redwood trails, breathe in the forest air, and return to Casa Secoya for tea, a good book, and a quiet evening. Casa Secoya sits among the redwoods along the Russian River with easy access to Monte Rio, Guerneville, wine country, the coast, and a scenic golf course next door.
Taste Through Harvest Season
September and October are made for wine country wandering. Follow your printed winery map, linger over tastings, catch a harvest party, or set out for Russian River Valley, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, or the Sonoma Coast.
Spend A Day On The Russian River
Fall on the river feels quieter, softer, and a little more local. Drive into Guerneville, stroll through Monte Rio, visit nearby cafés and shops, or make your way toward Jenner where the Russian River meets the Pacific.
Take A Coastal Drive
Pack a layer, cue up your favorite playlist, and follow the river west toward the Sonoma Coast. Bodega Bay, Jenner, coastal overlooks, seafood stops, and misty bluff walks are all within reach for a memorable fall day trip.
Golf Beneath The Redwoods
Right next door, Northwood Golf Club offers a uniquely Sonoma County round surrounded by towering redwoods. Casa Secoya highlights its location steps from Northwood Golf Club, which Golf Magazine has called “The Best Golf Course You’ve Never Heard Of.”

We booked a 2 night weekend getaway at Casa Secoya and it was exactly what we were looking for. The rooms are updated, roomy, and tidy with a mini fridge, cable TV, and A/C. The pool was very refreshing as it was 80’s-90’s during our stay in addition to the lounge chairs that we took advantage of on the big lawn. The location can’t be beat with neighboring towns within a few minute drive, and also a coffee shop and restaurant/bar next door. Staff was very friendly with an easy check in and smart keyless system. This will be our go-to getaway going forward. Thank you Casa Secoya!Posted on Google![]()
